Hi everyone,
Hope you are all alright?
We are here in Vietnam now, to be fair so far it’s pretty dingy but taxi was reliable from the airport to the hostel. We loved the taxi journey, though we were dodging mopeds all way we saw some pretty eye opening things (very poor country in parts) the funniest things we have seen so far is a moped holding trays full of eggs on the seat (we think at least 500 eggs) and another moped with a wardrobe attached to the side of it-completely bizzare. So far, we are just finding our bearings, we found somewhere to eat and found a nice bakery with lovely coconut biscuits and Snickers bars. Everything here is so cheap, we had a meal each with beer and coke for 4 pound and that was in a nice resturant. The weather is disapointing, its overcast and it rained heavily before we got here but we’re hoping that it’s gonna brighten up later in the week so we can visit Halong Bay for a couple of days.
We are unable to send messages from our phones so we probably won’t be able to receive them either, so we just have to talk via email or facebook chat.

Hello people of snowy England!!! Yesterday was a really nice day here, the sun was out and it got to about 30 degrees C. We booked the Ha long bay trip for tomorrow and we also found a nice little hotel to stay in when we get back. We walked round the big lake in the city and got some amazing photos!!! We are struggling to find a place to upload the photos but we will do as soon as we can!!! We also went to a Temple on the lake which was interesting. In the centre of Hanoi we found a nice little chicken shack called KFC!!!!!! Heaven! Last night we met a few people and we ended up going to a bar and drinking pints on the road for 6p a pint!!! Bargain!
