Lovers of European cuisines will again enjoy a rare chance to taste their favourite cuisines at the 4th European Food Festival, to be held on May 16 at King Ly Thai To Monument Square in central Hanoi.
The event coincides with the month-long celebration of the Europe Days, adding more spices of Europe to Hanoians’ life these days.

This is the fourth European food festival hosted by EuroCham on an annual basis, which attracted over one thousand visitors last year, mostly Vietnamese and expatriate businesspeople in Vietnam and their family members.

Travel agencies say many booked outbound tours are being cancelled on fears of the influenza A (H1N1) virus, also known as swine flu.  Tourists to Vietnam

“Many agencies tried to prevent the cancellation, but things have become worse due to spread of the flu in other countries,” said the director of a tourism company.

The Vong Tron Viet Tourism Company in Ho Chi Minh City said they had to delay a tour of 20 people to the US from May 22 to June 10.

More deluxe resorts in the works

Phan Thiet City in Binh Thuan Province continues to attract more investment in resorts to meet high demand for quality accommodation.

The Duc Thanh Joint stock Co, has broken ground for the Jade Ocean Resort at Suoi Nuoc Beach in Phan Thiet’s Mui Ne Ward. The 3ha resort, which includes bungalows and a four-star hotel, will be open in late 2010.

The 2009 Quang Nam – Heritage Journey is planned to open June 4, with a vintage vehicle parade taking centre stage, the festival’s committee announced recently.
The four-day festival will take place at Song Hoai Square, Hoi An Ancient Town.

The festival will feature Hoi An arts at “Hoa si va pho co Hoi An” (Painters and Hoi An ancient town) and a photo exhibition.

Halong Bay surpassed the Great Barrier Reef of Australia to take the position, ranking behind Bangladesh’s Cox Bazar beach.

Voting will continue until July 7 this year and the N7W Panel of Experts will choose finalists for short-listing.
